NewLink’s mission is to support personal development by providing accessible training, work placement, and employment opportunities.


NewLink Equal Opportunities Policy
The NewLink Project recognises that certain physical, personal and institutional barriers exist which can impede groups of students and staff (both existing and potential) from receiving effective training or equality of opportunity in employment.

  1. These barriers operate in relation to an individual's race, religion, gender, marital status or disability. This includes the inaccessibility of much of the physical environment, inbuilt attitudinal problems at an individual, departmental, institutional and community level, restrictive employment practices and a lack of positive images/role models.
  2. The existence of such barriers not only denies certain individuals their rights and opportunities for personal development, but also prevents them from contributing fully to society, and prevents the NewLink Project from maximising the effectiveness of the training programme it provides.
  3. THROUGH IDENTIFYING AND ELIMINATING SUCH BARRIERS, THE NEWLINK PROJECT AIMS TO ENABLE ITS STUDENTS AND WORKERS TO MAXIMISE THEIR INDIVIDUAL POTENTIAL.
  4. In so doing, it is the aim of the NewLink Project to maximise the effectiveness with which all training needs are assessed and met, and to maximise employment opportunities for all with regard to staff recruitment, selection, training and development.
  5. The maximising of individual potential among both its students and staff will be achieved by the NewLink Project through:
    • Developing and implementing policy guidelines in relation to accessibility.
    • Identifying and eliminating discriminatory procedures.
    • Developing awareness and understanding of issues concerned with equal opportunities.
    • Monitoring, evaluating and the continued development of practices which facilitate maximising individual potential.
    • Implementing programme's with specific targets and time scales set.
  6. As a reflection of the approach being taken towards equal opportunities, the following statement should be included in all relevant NewLink Project literature, including job advertisements:

"The NewLink Project Limited is aiming to provide Equality of Opportunity for ALL".
